- Age
- Compute your age on the cut-off date printed in the notification, not on the application date or the exam date, and use the date of birth on your Class 10 certificate — that is the only document IBPS accepts as age proof. Relaxations stack only in the combinations the notification lists: category relaxation (SC/ST or OBC-NCL) and PwBD relaxation are cumulative, but Ex-servicemen and widow/divorced-women relaxations are read together with the overall ceiling stated for that category. An OBC candidate needs a non-creamy-layer certificate issued in the current financial year format prescribed by the Government of India; a certificate in the state format or an older one is rejected at the provisional-allotment stage even though the online form accepted it.

- Only a degree already conferred, or a final mark sheet or provisional certificate dated on or before the cut-off date, counts. A result declared after that date does not, even if the exams were written earlier, so final-year students should wait for the next cycle rather than apply and lose the fee. Record the aggregate percentage exactly as your university computes it (some universities exclude first-year marks) — the form asks for it and the provisional allotment letter is checked against it. Computer literacy is declared on the form and is not separately tested at the exam; a certificate or a computer subject in Class 10/12/degree satisfies it.

- For an Indian citizen no separate document is needed beyond the usual identity proof (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID or driving licence — the photo ID carried to the exam hall must match the name on the admit card). Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees and persons of Indian origin from the specified countries may sit the exam, but their provisional allotment is held until the Government of India eligibility certificate is produced.
